Notes
One of the numerous theatre poster series that Fiore designed for Teatro Massimo of Palermo, Sicily. The posters are very elegant and visually powerful.
   The black background greatly emphasizes the drama and “beyond acting as a frame for the images, it also suggests the darkness surrounding the spectators during the performance” (Fiore).
  The sharpness of both the layout and the communication in general is reinforced by the use of Futura, the geometric typeface par excellence, set in contrasting bold weight and rigorously printed in white.
  Typography was set in different sizes. (Here only two sizes are represented, the bigger and the smaller ones.) For the design of the posters, Fiore received Graphis Platinum Award. [NM]
