Title
Campo Grafico, 11

Designer
Carlo Dradi

Year
1937

Client
Campo Grafico

Medium
Periodical

Size
33×24 cm

Notes
Although not signed, the cover design is commonly attributed to Carlo Dradi. The layout is very interesting, because despite being essential and made up of very few elements, it effectively enhances both the title of the magazine and the number of the issue, also communicating the idea of composition within a graphic field, which is the actual title of the magazine itself.
A more than likely reference could have been the ‘Konstruktivisten’ poster designed by Jan Tschichold only a few months earlier, which also features a spot, a thin line, and a few lines of text (actually mastering the layout in a much more sensitive and articulated way). The poster is here reproduced for comparison. [NMM]
