Born in 1926 in Milan, Lombardy. He started working very early in his father’s printshop. In 1946 he established Studio Negri in Milan, focusing on advertising and editorial graphics. In 1955 he associated with Giulio Confalonieri and founded Studio Industria (later Confalonieri+Negri). In 1963 they cofounded CNPT with Michele Provinciali and Pino Tovaglia. In 1965 the studio closed and he continued to work as a freelancer also collaborating with Nebiolo Research Group on the design of Forma typeface. He died in Milan in 1974.
