Book series for Edizioni di Comunità, the publishing house founded by Adriano Olivetti in 1946. Bassi redesigned the Saggi di Cultura Contemporanea series (Essays of Contemporary Culture) in 1969, thus replacing the previous design by Egidio Bonfante. Bassi’s design was used until the 1980s.

The covers follow a rigorous grid, featuring an image – illustration or photograph – framed within a square. While all the texts, set in Helvetica light, provide great legibility and visual clarity.

The great consistency provided by the graphic design and the rigorous layout in particular, makes the series to stand out among other books and to reinforce its overall visual identity.
