An elegant cover for a book titled “Maria Callas: Myth and Melancholy,” where typography and image are clearly and effectively separated in two different visual levels — the white title in the foreground and the dark image in the background.

Playing with typographic scale’s contrast, the cover also increases drama by using a monochrome photograph with a lot of empty space above the soprano. The book was also edited by Bietti with an identical graphic layout.
