A visually effective logotype based on a rigorous geometry that is made of intelligently arranged shapes. The only letter built out of diagonals is emphasised through the use of colour red. Also used in a negative white and red version, it was designed in 1970 for a brand new Italian furniture manufacturing company.
The essential but rigorous shape allowed the logo to overcome trends and fashions. After nearly 50 years, it still perfectly performs its function, expressing the attitude of Lema towards clarity of form and accuracy of the construction. It’s a perfect example of good design, embodying and representing the beauty of utility and intelligence.
The authorship of the logo is claimed by both Bob Noorda and Salvatore Gregorietti, who at that time worked together as partners of Unimark International.
