Born in Trieste, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, 1955. Trained as a typographer and graphic designer, he started working in the late 1970s focusing on editorial and exhibit design. In 1980 he established Tassinari/Vetta in Trieste. Art director of Casabella since 1996. Art director of Electa together with Leonardo Sonnoli. He works for major clients including Palazzo Grassi, Punta della Dogana, Triennale, and the Venice Biennale. Member of AGI. In 2011 he was awarded a Compasso d’Oro. He teaches in Italy and abroad. Since 2014 he is city councilor for culture in Trieste.
