Poster for the 7th Milan Triennale (International Exhibition of Decorative Arts and Modern Architecture). Ciuti arranged the layout using a simple grid, featuring lively fields of colours alternated with the emblems of Milan and Fascist Italy: the Visconti viper and the Lictors’ fasces. Texts are set in capital letters, according to poster’s standard of that time, using a geometric sans-serif typeface that expresses an attitude towards rationality. [NM]
