Vignelli stacked the two words one on top of the other, making each of the eight letters of the first word perfectly aligned with each of the eight letters of the surname. The first word is set in a light weight, while the second in a bolder one. In this way the logotype can be used to form elegant patterns enriched by the typographic contrast between the two words.
